Hiking and trekking the Elephant Hill is an elephant-shaped hill located in the Aberdare Range. It is the fifth-highest trail of the Aberdare range trails. The hike starts at the Aberdares, south end in Kinangop Constituency, Nyandarua County. The hiking trail is 9 kilometers. From the starting point at Njabini gate, 8,203ft or 2,500 meters above sea level, to its summit that straddles.
The summit is at an elevation of 3657.6 meters 12000Ft. The elephant hill hike starting point takes about two to three hours from Nairobi CBD. About 104 kilometers from Nairobi to Kenya Wildlife Service Njabini Gate is the distance. The park entry fee and clearance are prerequisites at this office before proceeding to the forest trail.
Elephant Hill Day Tour
Depart Nairobi at 6am with lunch boxes and drive for 2hrs to Kinagop south starting point. After some formalities, we start the hike around 9am. We hike for 4hrs to the Tail point 3513m where we will have lunch.
If the weather is clear, you will be able to see the peaks of Mt Kenya, Ndakaini and Sasumwa dams.
After lunch, we summit The Peak 3800m and return back to base where will catch our transport to Nairobi arriving late evening.
